1968-S FIVE CENT

Circulation strikes: 100,396,004
Proofs: 3,041,506
Designer: Felix Schlag
Diameter: ±21.2 millimeters
Metal content: Copper - 56% Nickel - 25%
Weight: ±5 grams
Edge: Plain
Mintmark: "S" (for San Francisco) below the date on the obverse
Value: $0.25 (MS-63) up to $1.00 (PF-65)

As always, I love me a good San Francisco mint coin. It doesn't have to be old, or pretty, or valuable. As I see it the simple fact that "S" mint mark circulation coins havent' been produced in 34 years makes them an increasingly uncommon find, and an increasingly worthwile one.
