It’s finally June! Just a few more short weeks until the ’08 Proof Sets are released. Normally I would just sit back and not worry about it. They’ll show up in the post one day and all will be well. This year, however, is different. First there is a little baby boy… Born earlier this year to some good friends of ours. He needs the Proof set from his birth year! (doesn’t everyone?) And quite a bit closer to home, and close to my heart, my wife is pregnant with twins*. Due date Dec 5th (though with twins we expect to deliver earlier than that)… that’s another two Proof sets I need this year! And, of course, I need a set for myself as well. So this year I’ve been waiting impatiently… of course once the Proof sets arrive I’ll be getting impatient for the annual Uncirculated sets!
*This is also the reason that posting has gotten even more erratic of late. Time not spent at the office is either time with the wife, time getting ready for the pending arrival, or time crashing out in exhaustion. I still ‘plan’ on doing some major revisions here this year. Some layout changes and the addition of an online coin / image / value database. But the combination of a new job and a pregnant wife have shifted the priorities around a bit, and if I get these updates done it’ll be slow going

Congratulations to you and your wife on the wonderful news!
My son is now almost 3 months old and it has been a wonderful and rewarding experience. I've already started him on a collection of Silver Eagles and will probably add the 2008 proof set when it comes out.
Best of luck with all of the preparations!
Oh... Silver Eagles! What a great idea, thanks! I don't know why I didn't think of that when I was considering annual coinage! Time to hit the Mint web site againg!
